Exclusive Interview With Louie XO

1. How did you first discover your passion for rap music, and what inspired you to pursue it as a career?

I first discovered my passion for rap music around 2013 as a freshman in high school, what inspired me was hearing all the sounds achieved durning a mixing process & other rappers saying “rapping is so hard”.

2. Can you share some insights into your creative process? How do you approach writing lyrics and composing beats?

I make songs by vibing first, I catch a certain vibe wherever I am at the moment, hear a beat and if they match I can easily put pen to paper and make a hit.

3. What are some of the biggest challenges you faced while trying to establish yourself in the rap industry, and how did you overcome them?

One of the biggest challenges I faced was building a bigger fan base / drop timing, they want you to go broke before you’re famous but famous artist get everything free damn near had my wave stolen and it made my fans go harder.

4. Who are your biggest musical influences, and how have they shaped your style and sound?

My biggest music inspirations are definitely lil Uzi Vert, 2. Pierre Bourne 3.Duwap kaine 4.Earl Sweatshirt cause we all just goated ! no need to explain.

5. Can you tell us about any memorable or influential experiences you've had on your journey as a rapper?

I was told by an retired nfl player to “talk to everybody you never know who you’ll run into” and never looked back.

6. In your opinion, what role does rap music play in society today, and how do you hope your music contributes to that role?

Rap music plays a HUGE part in everyday life as we know sports players & etc trying to portray the image, stealing styles, my music is already in play.

7. Many rappers use their music as a platform to address social and political issues. Are there any specific causes or topics that you feel strongly about and want to shed light on through your music?

I started the beard dying wave for music, got fans screaming “Bag day on a bad day”, all the “I love you” tags as a rapper not producer ? I started that Louie XO is & has always been “THE” not “a” Goat.
