1) Congratulations on releasing Splash. Can you tell us a bit about the song and how it came to life?
I owe the creation of ‘Splash’ to all of the talented artists that I’ve had the pleasure of working with. I feel that getting the opportunity to work along side artists like ‘Bam’ & ‘Jayci’ have expanded my views on what can be done on a record. From the melodies on the song, to the way the lyrics are put together, I truly have my team to thank for that. They have influenced me to become a better artist and create songs like ‘Splash’.
2) Do you plan to release a follow up any time soon? What are your plans for the rest of 2020?
My follow up to ‘Splash’ will be an EP titled ‘Bad’ and will consist of 8 songs. I plan to roll out the same promotion tactic used for ‘Splash’ and grow my knowledge on what can be done in terms of outreach and getting a song to the masses. I also have a 16 song mixtape coming to Spotify in order to continue growing my fan base on that platform. I have many music videos in the vault, lined up, ready to drop. Recently, Royal Media and I had the opportunity of collaborating with E.Prod on 2 video shoots, and we are very excited for those to be released as well.
3) Who are some of your favourite artists right now and who inspires you the most?
My favourite artist is Tory Lanez. I just really like his story, and it seems like he can never go wrong on the track. I feel that some of the music I make is influenced by him. However, I try not to look to others for influence. I like to think of myself as a very versatile artist who follows his own path.
4) You own your own production company “Medici”. Can you tell us a bit more about that?
Medici is far more than just a production company. ‘Medici’ is a brand. It is an independent label, a recording studio, a video production company, and soon enough, we will be producing merchandise. I like to tackle anything thrown my way that has to do with the entertainment going on in the Greater Toronto Area. So if a project comes our way that is new to us, you can bet we will learn every aspect of what that project needs in order to be successful and take action to achieve nothing less than that.
5) What would you say is the biggest difference between you and other artists in the industry right now?
The biggest difference between other artists in the industry and me is my work ethic. I do everything myself and also put in a large amount of effort into my artists releases. I wake up out of bed every morning and get right to work. Sometimes I forget to eat. I am fully invested in this not only because I have to be, but because I love to be.
6) The music video for Splash is epic! Is this your first music video? What was your experience like making it?
I have made many music videos before. ‘Splash’ is different though. I had a different plan of attack with the promotion for this song, because I knew that it would hit if I was able to get it in front of people. I had a great time making this video and Royal Media did an incredible job putting my vision together in such a short amount of time.
7) Finally, how would you define your sound in 3 words?
Versatile, Enjoyable, Memorable.
