UNMARKED Blends R&B, Pop, and Slovak Folk on Debut EP The Shepherd’s Tale

Born in Slovakia and now based in Vienna, UNMARKED is an emerging R&B/Pop artist carving out a distinct sonic identity rooted in self-reliance and emotional depth. His musical journey began with piano in elementary school and singing by age eight. A defining moment came at 15 during a Slovak “The Idol” casting, when judges labeled him “average.” Rather than accept the verdict, UNMARKED used it as motivation to create his own path—channeling doubt into discipline and creative independence.

In 2021, UNMARKED relocated to Vienna to study Sound Engineering and Audio Production, earning his Bachelor of Arts in March 2025. Largely self-sufficient, he writes, records, produces, and mixes most of his music—maintaining full control over his sound and artistic direction.

Sonically, UNMARKED blends R&B and Pop in his vocal delivery, with production influenced by Pop, Synth-Pop, R&B, and Trap. His tone and melodic phrasing draw comparisons to The Weeknd, Don Toliver, Chris Brown, and Michael Jackson. Lyrically, he explores love, forgiveness, emotional duality, and perspective—balancing playfulness with introspection.

His debut single, “Where You Wanna Go,” surpassed 100,000 total streams, signaling early traction. He has since premiered “Sins” live at a sold-out Vienna show and regularly hosts Pop Deconstructed with UNMARKED workshops at SAE Institute Vienna, teaching vocal production, recording, and mixing techniques to aspiring artists.

Now, UNMARKED is rolling out his debut EP, The Shepherd’s Tale, led by the single “Some of You” (Feb 6, 2026). The project weaves Slovak folk influences—including the traditional Fujara flute—into a modern R&B/Pop framework. Conceptually, UNMARKED positions himself as the shepherd guiding his own emotional healing journey, moving from toxic love toward self-forgiveness and elevation. The EP concludes with an alternative version of “Some of You,” offering listeners a shifted emotional lens and deeper reflection.

Looking ahead, UNMARKED plans consistent releases, expanded visuals, more live performances, and selective collaborations—all while maintaining creative control over his evolving sound.
