Miss Moody’s “High Note” Brings Caribbean Flavor to the Toronto Scene

Toronto, ON — Rising artist Miss Moody has just released the official music video for her latest single, “High Note,” a vibrant blend of dancehall and R&B that delivers both chill vibes and island flair. Inspired by artists like Byron Messia and Malie Donn, “High Note” was born from a desire to create something calming and soulful — music that feels like a vibe.

“I was listening to Byron Messia and Malie Donn one afternoon and thought to myself, I want to make music that people can listen to and it calms them,” Moody says. “That’s kinda how the melody was inspired.”

The music video, filmed across two locations in Toronto — Sugar Beach and Timeless Tree Studios — captures the duality of Miss Moody’s sound. “The inspiration behind it was to have a dancehall/R&B song but with a Toronto feel, so I can reach both Caribbeans and abroad,” she explains. Despite some unexpected changes to the original shoot plan (including a scrapped flamethrower scene), the final visuals offer a stylish and energetic interpretation of the track’s message.

Miss Moody continues to explore a unique musical identity rooted in both her Jamaican upbringing and Toronto culture. “For this song I wanted the lyrics to be both plain English and Patois,” she says. “My vision is to give people a taste of my Jamaican upbringing, which also includes me being raised in Toronto.”

Collaborating with a powerhouse team, including 10Keyz (producer), 23Dreamz (mix/mastering), and video directors The Knemesis and Surf4Ever, the result is a track and video that reflect intention, culture, and passion. “We went back in the studio like four times to get this song perfect. I respect all these guys. We made something special.”

Ultimately, Miss Moody hopes “High Note” resonates with her listeners. “I want my supporters to feel the emotion behind the song and use that passion to fuel their own special moment—whether they’re in their car, in bed, with their lover, or chilling with friends.”

“High Note” is available now on all major streaming platforms, with the video premiering on YouTube.
