With production from notable names like Tone Jonez, KevoBeatz, John P, and more, this 9-track album blends introspective lyricism with dynamic storytelling and emotionally charged soundscapes.

In this interview, he walks us through the album’s genesis, the creative chemistry with producers like Tone Jonez and Apollo V, and why independence in today’s music industry means building brick by brick on your own terms.

1. What inspired the title “Will They Still Luv Me” and what does it represent for you personally?

It’s for anyone who ever had dreams and decided to quit. I ask myself — when I decide to hang it up, will the love still be there? That question weighed heavy on my heart while making this. It's personal.

2. You described this project as your truth. How does it differ from your previous work?

Before, I wouldn’t speak on my personal life in my music. Now I’m in a different space mentally and emotionally. This album is about growth — I’m not hiding anymore.

3. How did dedicating the album to your brother Tre shape the tone and themes of the project?

Knowing my brother, he would’ve been proud — not just of the production, but of what I had the courage to speak on. That dedication added weight and purpose to everything I wrote.

5. How do you hope listeners feel after experiencing the entire album?

I hope they feel the time, the body of work, and the creativity behind it. And most importantly, I want them to believe they can achieve anything if they try.

Creative Process & Production

6. You worked with producers like Tone Jonez, KevoBeatz, and Apollo V. How did these collaborations influence the overall sound?

Each one brought a unique soul to the project. Tone Jonez gave it depth, Kevo brought that bounce, and Apollo added edge. They didn’t just send beats — they understood the emotion. That chemistry shows in the final product.

7. How do you approach blending storytelling and lyricism in your music without losing the energy that hip-hop fans love?

It’s a tightrope walk, for real. I let the emotion dictate the cadence. When the story is heavy, I still find a pocket that keeps it moving. You can be lyrical and still make people move — it’s all about balance.

8. Which song was the hardest for you to write emotionally, and why?

“Dedication to Tre.” Writing that meant tapping into the pain of losing my brother. It gave the world a glimpse into who he was and what he meant to me.

9. Was there a moment during the making of the album where you thought, “This is it. This is the heart of the project”?

Yeah, when I recorded “Dedication to Tre” — that was the emotional center. Everything else revolved around that truth.

10. The tracklist feels intentional—what was your thought process behind the order of the songs?

I wanted it to feel like a journey — from darkness to light, from pain to purpose. It’s not just a playlist. It’s a story.

Lead Single & Visuals

11. “Butterfly” is the lead single featuring Lehn Kessen. Why did you choose this track to represent the project first?

“Butterfly” just felt right to lead with. It’s a good vibe record and it felt like a hit out the gate. It sets the tone without giving everything away.

12. Can you tell us the concept behind the “Butterfly” music video and what you wanted to convey visually?

The video represents transformation — going from being overlooked to fully seen. Visually, it’s about growth and becoming who you’re meant to be, just like a butterfly.

13. What was it like working with Lehn Kessen and the other featured artists on this album?

It’s always fire working with Lehn Kessen. He’s a dope artist who really puts time into his craft. We have other songs together too. As for everyone else — I only work with people I feel are truly talented and passionate about the music.

Themes & Personal Journey

14. The title asks a powerful question: Will They Still Luv Me? — Who were you asking that question to when you wrote this?

Everyone. The fans, the people around me, even myself. It's about legacy — wondering if what I give will still be appreciated when I’m no longer in the spotlight.

15. How has your life in the DMV shaped your perspective and sound as an artist?

DMV is raw, real, and uncut. That grit, that culture blend — it’s in me. It gave me versatility. The DMV has so many different lanes — it’s just about finding where you fit in and owning it.

16. When dealing with trauma and loyalty in your lyrics, how much do you choose to share versus keep private?

I share what feels necessary. I don’t force vulnerability — I let it come naturally. Some scars I show, some I keep covered. But if sharing helps someone else heal, I put it in the verse.

Independent Grind

17. You released this under your own label, We All Dreamers. What does independence mean to you in today’s music industry?

Independence is freedom — but it’s also responsibility. I own my story, my masters, and my pace. In a fast world, being independent lets me build slow and solid. I’d rather grow with my audience than chase trends.

18. What were the biggest challenges of putting this album together as an independent artist?

Budget, time, and access — all of it. When you don’t have a machine behind you, everything hits harder. But every win feels deeper. Every stream, every message, every share — it matters more because we built it brick by brick.

Future & Legacy

19. If someone could only listen to one track from “Will They Still Luv Me,” which one should it be and why?

“Dedication to Tre.” It’s the heart of the album. That song captures my pain, my purpose, and why I do this. If you get that one, you get me.

20. After this release, what’s next for Keyyz Open Doors? Any visuals, tours, or collaborations we should look forward to?

I’m gearing up for the Will They Still Luv promo run — shows, visuals, interviews. Another independent tour is in the works. I’m staying active, staying visible, and continuing to network and build.
