Raised by a single mother battling addiction but blessed with an incredible singing voice, City Da King was surrounded by both struggle and inspiration. “My mom’s voice was the first music I ever heard,” he recalls. “Even through her pain, she showed me how powerful music could be.”


Growing up with four siblings in one of Baltimore’s toughest neighborhoods, City Da King found himself drawn to the streets for survival—but it was there he also found his purpose. In local cyphers and block parties, his ability to rhyme about real life—raw, unfiltered, and vivid—earned him respect and recognition. “The first time I heard the crowd go ‘ohhhhh,’ I knew this was it,” he says.
