Billy Banz Strikes Gold with Debut EP Lotto Baby

Toronto’s underground music scene is buzzing as Billy Banz, known for his skills behind the boards, officially steps to the mic with his debut EP Lotto Baby. A project rooted in personal meaning, Lotto Baby is more than just music—it’s a statement of purpose.

“It’s a concept I had in my head for a while because I feel like the winning ticket for my family and peers,” says Billy Banz. “If you look closely at the cover art, the numbers are my date of birth.”

The four-track EP blends sharp storytelling with atmospheric production, offering a listening experience that demands focus and connection. While Roll the Dice stands out as the most personal track, Billy’s personal favorite is Win.

The journey to Lotto Baby began organically.

“I was just locked in working on music,” he explains. “I had the Win and Switch On You records finished, then I decided to make an EP and came up with Right My Wrongs and Roll the Dice.”

Unlike his previous work, this project shifts away from high-energy “turn-up” tracks to deliver something deeper and more reflective.

“It’s more of a vibe where you gotta sit down and listen to what I’m saying—something that will make the listener emotionally connected,” Billy says.

Billy Banz not only took creative control of the project’s vision but also handled production on two of the tracks himself. The other two were produced by YouTube-based producers. The EP was mixed and mastered by Billy and his longtime collaborator B3 (IG: @prod.b3).

With Lotto Baby, Billy Banz proves he’s not just a producer—he’s a storyteller, a lyricist, and an artist ready to claim his place in the spotlight.
