1mar Channels Long-Distance Love and Laid-Back Vibes in New Release

Canadian genre-bender 1mar (real name Matt Currie) taps into raw emotion and summer escapism on his latest track — a melodic reflection of longing, distance, and the need to let go and live in the moment. The Barrie-born artist continues to expand his sonic universe with a song that fuses heartfelt storytelling with a chill, breezy vibe perfect for warm nights and long drives.

At just 21 years old, 1mar has already cultivated a distinct sound shaped by an eclectic blend of influences. Raised on rock legends like Bon Jovi, U2, and The Police, and later drawn to artists such as Juice WRLD, The Kid Laroi, Post Malone, Drake, Lil Uzi Vert, and iann dior, 1mar’s music effortlessly blends pop, rock, R&B, indie, and melodic hip-hop into an emotional, genre-crossing experience.

The new single, inspired by a real long-distance relationship, captures the tension between emotional closeness and physical absence. It’s a song about texting instead of touching, calling instead of holding — all wrapped in feel-good production that still hits deep. “This one came from a real place. I was just in my feelings, but I wanted to make it something people could ride out to, not just sit with,” says 1mar.

With around 25 official tracks released and hundreds more in the vault, 1mar is one of Canada’s most promising new voices — bridging introspection and innovation with every drop.
